From the atelier: a morning in Onsala
[PLACEHOLDER entry — replace with Birgitta's own words. It shows how the journal looks and reads.]
The atelier sits a short walk from the water on the Onsala peninsula, south of Gothenburg. Most pieces begin here — not at the worktable, but outside: hides airing on the line between the trees, pears ripening by the fence, the light doing what it does in late summer.
Guests sometimes ask why everything is made one at a time. The honest answer is that the materials insist on it. No two hides curl the same way, so no two vests can be cut the same way. The place works like that too — no two mornings on this coast are quite alike.
When you visit Kungsbacka, go early. The Tuesday and Thursday market on the square has been running since the 1600s; buy cherries, walk the old wooden-town lanes around Norra Torggatan, and take the long way back along the Kungsbackafjord.
